Four years after the release of v3.2.1 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Version 4 of the Standard is due for release during March 2022. The new Standard is being updated to address evolving risks and changes in the security landscape, reinforce security as a continuous process and to support the use of different security technologies. With v4.0, there is also a new validation option which enables organisations to take a customised approach in demonstrating how they are meet the security intent of each PCI DSS requirement.
