Cyber security has never been more important for organisations; as the business landscape continues to digitalise, so too do the threats it faces, with cyber attacks representing perhaps the greatest threat to the security of modern organisations. However, many organisations may struggle to understand the nuances of what constitutes best practice when it comes to mitigating these risks, or, in light of our increasingly security-conscious business culture, may need to provide assurance to existing and prospective customers that the cyber security measures they have in place are effective.
Certification to Cyber Essentials, a UK government-backed cyber security scheme, is one way to achieve both this strengthening of your cyber security measures and to assure stakeholders of your organisation’s commitment to security. Implementation of the scheme has been proven to tangibly reduce organisations’ vulnerability to attack, with recent statistics showing that organisations that implement Cyber Essentials are 92% less likely to make a claim on their cyber insurance. Feedback from those organisations that have already certified has also been overwhelmingly positive; 89% of certified organisations would recommend Cyber Essentials certification to other organisations like theirs.
As such, on 22 January 2025 at 11am, URM will be hosting a Cyber Essentials Q&A session, in which one of our expert Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessors will answer questions you and other organisations may have about the scheme, including requirements, costs, benefits and potential pitfalls.
The session will be divided into 2 sections:
- A brief introduction to the scheme, where we will clarify:
- What Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus are
- The requirements for certification to the scheme
- Recent changes that have been made to the scheme in 2024
- Answering your questions about Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.
