When developing your business continuity (BC) programme, exercising of plans plays a vital role.  Regular testing of BC and crisis management plans is crucial for your organisation’s resilience; these exercises reveal gaps in procedures, train and prepare staff in emergency responses, and ensure plans remain current with evolving threats.  Without regular testing, plans may fail when needed most, potentially leading to severe operational disruptions, reputational damage and, ultimately, financial losses.

In this webinar, URM will address the following fundamental questions:

  • Why do we need to exercise our BC and crisis management plans?
  • What and when should we be exercising?
  • How do you maximise the effectiveness of BC exercises?

We will be focussing particularly on the last question, where we will draw upon our extensive experience in the development and delivery of effective BC exercises to offer key advice and guidance on planning (scenario development), delivering and evaluating BC exercises.

Agenda:

  • Why, what and when we need to exercise
  • The types of BC exercises, including the pros and cons of each
  • Creating the best scenarios
  • How best to undertake the exercise
  • Evaluating the exercise
  • Pitfalls and common mistakes to avoid.
