Cyber Essentials Danzell Service Offerings
Cyber Essentials (CE) is a UK government backed cyber security certification that demonstrates your organisation has implemented baseline technical controls to protect against the most common cyber threats. It is widely required across public and private sector supply chains and is increasingly referenced within contractual, regulatory, and assurance frameworks.
URM Consulting Services Ltd (URM) offers three Cyber Essentials service options*, designed to align with different organisational needs, internal capability levels, and risk tolerance. Following the Danzell scheme update, greater emphasis is placed on correct scoping, accurate declarations, and unambiguous evidence of compliance.
URM’s CE services combine experienced assessors, structured review, and access to the Abriska platform to support an efficient and proportionate certification journey. Organisations intending to progress to Cyber Essentials PLUS should note that only the Assured service includes the scope verification and evidence capture required under the PLUS scheme.

Cyber Essentials Assured
What is included
Cyber Essentials Assured is URM’s recommended CE service and provides the highest level of assurance and support. It includes access to the Abriska platform, an early scope verification workshop, assessor led questionnaire review, and follow up advisory support. The scope workshop confirms devices, networks, segregation arrangements, and group or legal entity boundaries, identifying potential issues at an early stage.
A structured one hour Microsoft Teams feedback session with an accredited assessor ensures questionnaire responses clearly demonstrate compliance and align with the agreed scope. For organisations progressing to CE+, required Technical Scope Verification evidence is captured and retained as part of this process.
Who it is aimed at
Organisations that want the smoothest and lowest risk route to CE certification. This service is strongly recommended for complex environments, group structures, first time applicants, and any organisation intending to proceed to Cyber Essentials Plus.
Cyber Essentials Guided
What is included
Cyber Essentials Guided provides structured assessor feedback without full advisory coverage. You complete the questionnaire using the Abriska platform, followed by a detailed assessor review and a structured one hour feedback session explaining non compliant responses and required actions.
Up to 4 submission attempts are included in line with scheme guidance. A short follow up call is available after a third unsuccessful attempt to clarify specific issues.
Who it is aimed at
Organisations that only require CE certification, have relatively simple scopes, and want professional feedback to support compliance. This option is suitable for organisations that do not intend to progress to CE+ and are comfortable implementing remediation actions independently.
Cyber Essentials Self Managed
What is included
Cyber Essentials Self Managed is an assessment only route. It includes access to the Abriska platform and up to four submission attempts. Feedback on non compliant responses is provided within the platform, but no assessor meetings or advisory support are included.
Who it is aimed at
Experienced applicants with established Cyber Essentials knowledge, low environmental complexity, and no intention to pursue CE+. This option carries greater risk of delay or failure if requirements are misunderstood, but upgrades to Guided or Assured remain available if support is later required.
